Thinking Through Feedback

The feedback that was given to me was very helpful. The feedback of others made my writing improve more than it was. There were few mistakes with my short story. The postive out weighed the negative feedback. The classmates of my creative writing class enjoyed alot about my writing.

Some thought that my writing was very different. They liked the way it was set up, which included many details and dialogue. They thouught my story was very good because I told about things that happened in the everyday life. Others thought my story related to theirs, and was really nice. They liked the way I talked about everyday life, which kept their interest. They enjoyed the part when I told about her problems, and how she overcame her problems to meet her life of success.

There wasn`t really alot of suggestions for improvement as I prepared for my final draft. It wasn`t anything big, it was only things such as, puncuation and spelling errors. I also need to think of a title that I thought fitted my story. Other than that, all I needed was to stay focus so that I could get everything done within a matter of time. Besides that they thought everything about my short story was great.

Self Reflecting

I have learned many thing from being apart of Mr.Weiler`s Creative Writing class at North Lawndale College Prep High School. This class was very helpful. It helped better my writing in many ways. This class not only helped my writing in this class, but over all. Although, I struggled with the work, I still managed to put in my good effort. Writing short stories, plays has also helped me prepare for writings when I go to college. Sometimes I managed to turn in my assignments late, but when I turn my writings in it was worth it. When I completed my writings in creative writing class to Mr.Weiler he left comments or personally pulle me over and told me that he really liked my story or it was one of the best writings he read so far. This made me want to write another short story, but exceed the length of the what`s expected because of my writing skills I didn`t know I had. I have had many ups and downs in this class, which has only made me stronger. It has changed me and made me realize that all people could write what every it is that they want and exceed at it.

My Final Project Proposal

The particular task I selected as my final project wass to do a short story. I chose to complete a short story because I like to tell many details anout my characters and how many things affect them. my short story will contain many topics and have different themes that leads up to my moral.

The many topics I have choosen to be apart of my short story were teen pregnancy, relationships, love, friendship, and school education, which lead up to the several themes. After concluding these themes on the above topics I came about with the moral of my short story. The moral of my short story is to never depend on or trust that someone would do for you, always have havea back up plan for your future. Besides, everyone should have goals in life that they would like to overcome,and they can start by changing their ways so, that they can have a better life.

I choose to tell a short story that relates to reality. My short story is going to be about how a girl has been dating the star quaterback of the football team for 3 years, and she happens to be pregnant. Then, a girl that attends the same school wants to date her boyfriend, its obvisously she is jealous of what they haveand thinks she can do better. Her boyfriend is in love with her, and he dont want to break up their relationship besides he`s having her baby. Eventhough, she is having a baby while in high school, she continues to go to school because education is a very important thing and shouldnt be wasted. During her pregnancy her boyfriend and close friends look out for them as she did in the past. Later on, she has her child, graduates from high school, and plans to attend Spelman University in the fall. I chose to complete a short story to tell all people that you can still be who ever you want and do what ever you want as log as you believe in yourself while working hard to do so.

Another reason for me writing a short story was because Mr.Weiler told me that he liked my writings, but also the sense of humor I used. This pushed me to complete a short story for my final project.

My Fairy Tale…A Happy Ending?

My fairy tale was wrote in first person narration because I felt that it would let the readers know more about what was going on in my story. The lesson I am trying to portray to others is that one bad decision or choice could change your life. It doesn`t make your life any better, it only make the problems seem worse.

My fairy tale started off as someone`s life being miserable, and how they tried to make others feel like them. The things he plan to do to others didnt work as planned, things only got worse. He was defeated by the only was who had all power over him. The hero told him about the things that he were doing that wasn`t right, which lead him to think. He thought about how he did all these things to hurt others when he only ended up the same way he started, and that`s when he accepted chirst. In this story, he changed his life from something bad to something that appeared to help his life later on.

My Powerword

The word I have choosen as my powerful word is evolutionary. Evoluti0nary is a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. There`s never a person who is never growing in some part of their life. I chose this word also because I am in the process of developing and changing in many ways. I developed from a girl to a young lady and soon to be a woman is example of me being evolutionary. This isn`t the only way that someone could develop into someone else. Someone doesn`t have to change themselves to be evolutionary.

Being evolutionary is more than just gradual process that tells that something has changed into something different of a more complex or better form. It shows that you have a came a long way as a person, but on your way to becoming mature you have gone step-by-step. Showing that you are evolutionary is being advanced in something or expanded your knowledge or mind set of something. I consider myself to be evolutionary also because I have experienced many things, and took something from this experience that I will continue to take with me. The word evolutionary fits me because I will continue to rise as long as I try my best at whatever it is in life that I want.

“If I could write a best-seller…”

If I could write a best-seller it would would be a non-fictional novel. The reason for my book being non- fictional would be because it will tell about real life situations. It would be stories made up that will make some people turn to do something they will later regret, so thats why my book would be a book that tells about the truth. My book will tell about the varies problems or mistakes people make, and what they could do to overcome their problems.

I think that my book would be a best-seller because it would help people, but also tell about some things I went through and how I came to be the person I am now. This best-seller would tell about the things that goes on in reality. I would also include how people tend to go down the wrong road, when they should`ve thought first about what was about to happen and later regret it. There are many ways someone could connect to the world, but I think that am non-fictional bookm will catch the readers interest. Writing an fictional story to me is someone wishing to become someone or somthing and not working hard for what it is they want, but in reality you have to work for what every you want. There will be many challenges you will face, but if you want something just as writing a best-seller, you have to work for it.

My Fairy Tale

My fairy tale is based on change within yourself, but also the things you do. The Theme of my fairy tale is that one bad decision can change your whole life. By this, I mean that if you continue to do negative things, and never make any effort to do any thing positive your life is basically going down the drain. I`m not saying this to make anyone feel bad, I just believe that anyone can change their lifestyle, if they are willing to do so.

My fairy tale will be about a situation where a person has so much going on that it get to the point where his life is miserable, and he plans to make others life turn out the way he feels. His plan doesn`t goes the way he plans, and when he thinks he has captured everyone he hasn`t. His plan starts to go down the drown, meanwhile he is being defeated by the only person that has power over him. As he thinks back on what has happened and what he has done he plans to change his life around. My fairy tale includes humor, but also tells the readers that it is never too late to change yourself. If you sink deep into that habit, it may be harder for you to overcome this problem. Afterwards, you will be proud that you changed and now your life is so much better.

“After 2 weeks, My writing…”

After 2 weeks, my writing has improved. I think that my writing skills have improved in several ways. My writing skills have improved by doing morning pages, exercises, and compositions in my daily notebook. These skills are helping me better myself as a writer, but also as a person. Being selected to be apart of an creative writing class is going to help my writing skills improve because we learn to write in differently.

After my first two weeks in creative writing class, my writing is has turned out to be different form others. My writing has it on uniqueness because I make sure my writings have a meaning,but also are special in some ways. During morning pages, I have the opportunity to write what ever I feel or what ever comes to mind. I am glad to be apart of this experience because I only write when I am telling someone somethings or giving advice. The exercise part of our notebooks I had the chance to express myself and even become more creative. We created poems from magazines, which told me that theirs not only oneu way of writing. The compostition part is where we told stories, which taught many things. Within the first two weeks I learned more and more each day, but as the time progressed this class became helpful.

Am I A Writer?

I don’t consider myself as a writer because I feel that I don`t have all the characteristics of a writer. I don`t know all the correct ways of writing or I don`t know what to write about is why I don’t write short stories, plays or poems,etc. I only write because I have good penmanship. The writing goals I have for myself is to become a better writer, to gain confidence in my writings, but also try writing creatively. Different writers inspire me because of their sayings and the books, poems, plays or short stories they have written.

I wouldn`t consider myself a writer because I love to write. I dont write as much as I should could be why I dont consider myself as a writer. I write as if I am writing in a journal about my life or giving someone advice. Pretty soon, I will consider myself as a writer because creative writing class is not only increasing my knowledge, but also preparing me to be successful in the world.
